Anna Maude Jeanine (Hanlin) Powelson

In loving memory of Jeanine (Hanlin) Powelson, who peacefully departed this world at the age of 91 on January 20, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas, we celebrate a life that radiated warmth and kindness. Born on December 31, 1933, in Liberal, Kansas, to Frances "Dick" Bell and Mildred "Bitsy" Loraine (Feese) Hanlin, Jeanine was a cherished gift to all who knew her.

United in love with Philip Joe Powelson on November 22, 1952, they created a beautiful family, nurturing and guiding their two beloved children with unwavering dedication and affection. 

Jeanine’s spirit was as bright as the sun, her presence a comforting embrace. With an infectious positivity, she brightened every room she entered, beaming love as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Truly, she was a treasure—a one-of-a-kind soul whose kindness touched the lives of many.

She was an active member of Hugoton Church of Christ for many years. She was a Sunday School Teacher and helped VBS. 

Professionally, Jeanine was an insurance agent at Pyramid Insurance, where her innate desire to assist others flourished. Her generous heart and helpful nature defined her career, allowing her to support and uplift those around her.

Her hobbies were oil painting, crafting, and making her children's clothes. 

She leaves behind her two beloved children, Marshall Powelson and wife, Flora, Crestline, CA., Andrea Adee, husband Jim, Boise City, OK. The legacy of her love continues through her grandchildren: Jennifer Carson, Justin Powelson and wife Barbara, Jeremiah Adee and wife Jennifer, and Amanda Rivera and husband Carlos, as well as her eight adoring great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Jeanine now rejoins her beloved husband Philip and her devoted parents in eternal rest.  

In lieu of flowers, her family invites you to contribute to a memorial benefitting the Hugoton Church of Christ and/or Pheasant Heaven Charities, in care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 3 PM to 7 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton. 

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 11 AM at Hugoton Church of Christ. Burial following at Hugoton Cemetery. 

Services are being planned by Robson Funeral Home of Hugoton, honoring the beautiful life and legacy of Jeanine Powelson—a gentle spirit whose love will forever illuminate the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
