He was the son of Bernardino Gomez and Isabel Holguin, he was born August 2, 1936, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Benito married Maria Ana Loya. To this union were 8 children, Jose Angel, Jose Joaguin, Javier, Oscar, Bertha, Maria Isabel, Maria Del Carmen, and Patricia.
He was a farmer and enjoyed doing that throughout life. He also enjoyed visiting family and spending time with them.
Survivors included wife, Maria Ana Loya, Mexico; four sons, Jose Angel Gomez, Mexico, Jose Joaguin Gomez, Mexico, Javier Gomez, Elkhart, KS., Oscar Gomez, Scott City, KS., four daughters, Bertha Alicia Gomez, Mexico, Maria Isabel Gomez, Elkhart, KS., Maria Del Carmen Gomez, Mexico, Patricia Gomez, Hereford, TX.; two brothers, Moises Gomez, Ruben Gomez, two sisters, Rosario Gomez, Celilia Gomez; 26 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Oscar Gomez and Benito Gomez.
Funeral Mass and Rosary will be Friday, January 17, 2020, 10:30 AM, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Elkhart, KS.
Viewing will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020, from 10 AM to 8 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
Robson Funeral Home, Elkhart is in charge of arrangements.
