Bettie Pauline Bach

August 26, 1923 — July 22, 2024

Hugoton

Bettie Pauline Bach, aged 100, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2024, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton, Kansas. She was born on August 26, 1923, in Glade, Kansas to her late parents, Milton and Mary (Taylor) Keeten.

Bettie devoted many years to serving as a clerk in Haskell County, Kansas. Her dedicated work ethic and affable personality endeared her to all who crossed paths with her. She took great pride and joy in daily responsibilities and became a well-respected figure within the community.

A devoted member of the Lutheran Church, Bettie called Faith Lutheran Church of Hugoton her home until she couldn't no longer attend. She was in constant prayer for her family and a dependable reporter of the weather, for all their locations.  She loved her family, but she loved the Lord most of all and impressed upon her loved ones the importance of going to church and being a part of the body of Christ. Many will remember the cinnamon rolls Bettie made and her delicious angel sugar cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies.

On January 12, 1947, Bettie married Paul William Bach in Stuttgart, Kansas. Their union blessed them with two children, Greg and Sandra. Beyond her professional achievements, Bettie was known for her maternal warmth and friendship towards many. Her kind nature and inclusive spirit made others feel comfortable in her presence. An avid crocheter and reader, Bettie found fulfillment in contributing positively to those around her.

Survived by her daughter Sandra Passmore and husband Bob; daughter-in-law Elva Bach; five grandchildren: Ryan Passmore, Kerri Corneil, Melissa Voller, Jennifer Dahlman, and Lacey Larson; as well as eleven great-grandchildren: Paul, Kara, Keeten, Carson, Aiden, Maddy, Bailee, Carter, Kinley, Hadley, and Lincoln.

Bettie was preceded in death by her husband Paul; son Greg; four brothers: Dean, Merle, Max, Harold; and six sisters: Twila Johnston, Zelma Southard, Doris States, Arleta Power, Margaret Keeten, and Evelyn Keeten.
