Obituary for Beverly Jean Lester (Brown)

Beverly Jean (Brown) Lester left this earthly world to live eternally with our Heavenly Father on January 29, 2018 with the same peacefulness and grace that she lived her life. Born September 28, 1929 to Robert C. Brown and Faye (Clark) Brown, she grew up in Hutchinson, KS. After marrying the love of her life, Kenneth Lester she moved to Hugoton, KS where they raised two beautiful children, Michael Rebel and Gayle (Rebel) Taylor. They also were blessed with the opportunity to raise their grandson Clint Taylor. Beverly moved to Wichita in 2003 where she quickly became engrained in the community by developing deep friendships through her love of God and playing bridge. The Lord, her family and her friends were the center of her life although she also found true joy in reading, shopping, and learning new things. Beverly will be most remembered for her love of our Lord, generosity, and kindness, as well as her elegant and sophisticated sense of style.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Faye; husband Kenneth; children Michael and Gayle; grandchild Clint Taylor; and sister Betty (Brown) Moore.

She is survived by her granddaughter Christina (Geoffrey) Gatewood; grandson Johnny (Amalia) Rebel; great grandchildren Isaac and Nathan Gatewood and Callissa and Jaycob Rebel, all of East Wenatchee, WA; several friends whom she thought of as family.

A memorial service was held on January 31, 2018 at 3pm at Maple Gardens Village. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved Kenneth in Hugoton cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to any Christian ministry.
