Beverly Rose Metcalf, born on December 2, 1934, in Rogers, Arkansas, passed away on December 23, 2024, in Lakin, Kansas. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was richly woven with love, dedication, and compassion.

Beverly's academic journey began in Wellington, Kansas, and continued in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she graduated high school. For approximately 15 years, she made a significant impact in the field of education at the Junior Academy in Colorado Springs, nurturing and shaping young minds with her passion and expertise.

On January 16, 1954, Beverly married the love of her life, Eldred William (Bill) Metcalf, in Colorado Springs. Their enduring 70-year marriage was marked by unwavering support and deep affection for one another. Together, they raised three sons: Gregory, Andrew, and Martin. Beverly took immense pride in her family, and her proudest accomplishments were undeniably centered around her children and grandchildren. Her legacy continues through her two granddaughters, Mallory and Macy, as well as four cherished great-grandchildren.

Beverly had many interests and passions. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing the violin, and her love for nature was evident in her joy of yard work, tending to flowers, and feeding wild birds. She had an innate kindness that extended to her family and little animals, reflecting her nurturing spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Eldred William (Bill) Metcalf of rural Ulysses, Kansas; her three sons; Gregory Metcalf, of Olympia, Washington; Andrew William Metcalf; and Martin Clark Metcalf, and wife Terri, of Houston, Texas; her granddaughters, Mallory Davidson from Denton, Texas, and Macy Watkins from Houston, Texas; her brother, Terry L. Matthews of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her sister, Glenda Pacheco from Spokane, Washington; and other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Katherine Matthews, and her brother, Frank A. Matthews.

Beverly Rose Metcalf will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her commitment to education, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her life was a testament to the values of family, love, and service, and she will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Memorial has been established for Lakin Methodist Church in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, Kansas 67846.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Robson Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Lakin Methodist Church in Lakin, Kansas, followed by burial at Lakin Cemetery.
