Bill Hittle

Bill Hittle, 74, of Hugoton, KS passed away on Thursday morning August 16, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital, Wichita KS.

He was the son of Walter Rex Hittle and Velma L. (McMillan) Hittle. He was born on February 8, 1944 in Stevens County, KS.

Bill and Linda Marie (Nix) Hittle were married on November 27, 1963 in Hooker, Oklahoma in the Hooker Church of Christ. He was a life time resident of Stevens County where he farmed and ranched. Bill graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK.

Bill is a member of the Hugoton Church of Christ. He was very active in all the works of the church as elder, teacher, and encourager. He was a supporter of the Christian children’s homes with livestock programs by donating horses. He help support many missionaries and encourage kids to attend Christian college.

He was a past president and life time member of the Paint Horse Association. Bill and Linda raised the World Champion horse Ratchett. They and Ratchett were inducted into Paint Horse Association Hall of Fame. Bill was a life time member of the American Quarter Horse and National Rifle Association. He was a past member of Hugoton School Board. He and Linda love to travel together.

Survivors include, wife Linda Hittle, of Hugoton, KS.; mother, Velma Hittle, of Hugoton, KS.; a son Barry Hittle and wife Leisa of Hugoton, Ks; a daughter, Kristina Wight and husband Schuyler, Goldsmith, TX.; two brothers Bob and wife Diana Hittle, of Hugoton, KS and Steve and wife Cindy Hittle, of Rolla, KS. Four grandchildren, Chase Hittle, Carly Hittle, Kalinda Wight and Kristal Wight and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Rex Hittle and brother, Jim Hittle.

Memorials have been established for the Hugoton Church of Christ. Memorials can be mailed to Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home-PO Box 236- Hugoton, KS 67951.

Funeral Service will on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 2 PM at Church of Christ, Hugoton, KS with Lee Rottman presiding. Burial will take place in the Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, KS.

Viewing will be 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday at Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton, KS. Family will receive friends 6PM to 8PM at the funeral home.
