Elkhart, Kansas - Clarence "Sonny" Wayne Jones, a dedicated farmer and entrepreneur who found joy in every aspect of life, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in Amarillo, Texas surrounded by his dear family. Born on December 8, 1944, in Grandfield, Oklahoma to his parents R.D. and Bessie Mildred (Mullican) Jones, Sonny leaves behind a legacy of love and that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

He and Sharron Gayle Goodwin were married on June 24, 1967 in Elkhart, Kansas. To this union were two precious and loved daughters, Toni and Tina.

A devoted member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church of Elkhart, he and Sharron have been members and have attended for many years. 

Sonny's career was a testament to his strong work ethic and passion for farming. He also owned and operated D & S Hot Oil for many years, showcasing his dedication to hard work and success.

Known for his caring and loving nature, Sonny touched the lives of everyone he met with his compassion and generosity. His ability to make others feel loved and valued was truly remarkable. Throughout his life, Sonny prioritized his family above all else. A man of many interests and hobbies, Sonny enjoyed spending time country dancing with his family, lifting weights with friends, fishing, hunting, and traveling the world. One of his fondest memories was playing golf at Point Rock Golf Course with his buddies—a true reflection of the cherished moments he spent with those closest to him. Sonny was an avid fan of NASCAR and Denver Broncos.  Sonny's proudest accomplishments revolved around the love he shared for his wife Sharron and the joy he found in creating lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. His devotion to family knew no bounds and will continue to inspire those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharron Jones, whom he loved unconditionally. His daughters, Toni Jones Bressler (Fiancé, Kevin Nelson) and Tina Jones Cavner, were the apple of his eye, and he took immense pride in watching them grow and succeed.

In addition to his immediate family, Sonny is survived by his brothers Ray Don Jones (Wife, Madonna) and Carl DeSpain (Wife, Renee), sister Carolyn Bickmore, dearly loved grandchildren Tanille Bressler, Sunny Cavner, Braxton Bressler, Brock Bressler, Sidney Cavner, great-grandchildren Allison and Ryleigh, along with numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial has been established for Hillcrest Baptist Church or Point Rock Golf Course; in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.

Visitation to honor Clarence "Sonny" Wayne Jones's life will be held at Robson Funeral Home in Elkhart for visitation on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Funeral Service will be held at First Church of God of Elkhart on Wednesday, July 17th at 2:00 PM with Pastor Terrell Giddens presiding. Burial will immediately follow at Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart, Kansas. His service will be available through Robson Funeral Home's Facebook page and also attached to the bottom of his obituary on the website for those unable to attend.
