Denise Ann Poole, 46, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Overland Park, Kansas.
She was the daughter of Theodore “Ted” and Judy Dawn (Nix) Heaton. Denise was born on January 7, 1976, in Guymon, Oklahoma.
Denise Ann Heaton married Christopher Barrett Poole on April 12th, 2003.
Denise graduated from Hugoton High School in 1994. She then went to the University of Kansas where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
Denise was a fun and loving person to everyone she knew. Her smile was contagious, and she was a joy to be around. She enjoyed being a mom to her dogs, Leia and Chewy, and her cat, Vader. Denise was a loyal Kansas Jayhawk and Kansas City Chief's fan.
Survivors include husband, Barry Poole, Overland Park, KS., parents, Ted and Judy Heaton, Hugoton, KS.; paternal grandmother, Laura Heaton, Ulysses, KS.; maternal grandparents, Benny and Jane Nix, Hugoton, KS.; brother, Austin Heaton, and wife, Cammie, Hugoton, KS.; two sisters, Kimberly Mauk and husband Adam, Hugoton, KS., Tina Salmans and husband Greg, Hugoton, KS.; nieces and nephews, Jaxen, Olivia, Jonas, Blake, Quinnlee, and Gracyn; in-laws, Sandra and Christopher A. Poole; and sister-in-law, Danielle Poole; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her big brother, DeWayne Lawrence Heaton, grandfather Buddy Heaton, and Uncle Buddie Heaton.
A memorial has been established for the Turner Syndrome Foundation in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, from 6 PM to 8 PM, at First Christian Church.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 2 PM, at the First Christian Church, with Pastor Heath Kelley presiding. There will be no burial as cremation will take place after the service.
