Donna Jane Connor

January 9, 1943 — March 17, 2025

Donna Jane Connor, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Donna was born on January 9, 1943, in Minneola, Kansas to Royal Nile and Grace Gertrude (Tucker) Unger. She was a devoted and loving presence in the lives of her family and friends, known for the happiness she spread and her caring nature.

Donna dedicated much of her professional life to being a school bus driver for Satanta Public Schools. She found joy in driving the children daily, nurturing relationships with them, and feeling pride in being part of their day-to-day lives. Beyond her career, she was an active member of the Satanta Baptist Church, where she continued to connect with her community.

Donna and Donald Wayne Connor were married on July 29, 1961, in Satanta, Kansas.

Her personality shone brightly in the roles she cherished most—those of a loving and fun mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was deeply proud of her family, which included two sons, Kevin Connor and his partner, Rocky Unruh, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Kipp Connor of Satanta, Kansas. She treasured her three grandchildren, Katrina McKay, Shelby Don Connor, Atasha Fisher, and her great-grandchildren, Travis, Declan, Aveya, Aiden, and Braxton. Donna is survived by her sisters, Nilene Cunningham, Liberal, KS., Georgia Moree and Jennie Harrison, both of Satanta and daughter-in-law, Melita Connor and brother-in-law, Jack Connor, and other relatives and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Raymond Gerald Unger, and sisters, Polly Ellen Unger, Mary McMinn, Norma Gross, and Betty Jo Young. Despite these losses, she remained a beacon of love and positivity to all who knew her.

In addition to her family commitments, Donna pursued interests that brought her joy, including watching crime shows, indulging in scary movies, traveling, bowling and enjoying the excitement of gambling. Her vibrant spirit and adventurous soul will be dearly missed by those who had the pleasure of sharing her life. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren remained her proudest accomplishment.
