Ferne Adeline Traver, 97, rose to Eternal Life on March 23, 2019, Pioneer Manor Nursing Home, Hugoton, KS.
She was born to Orville and Pearl (Younggren) Rich on November 29, 1921 in rural Morton County, KS. She was a lifetime resident of Stevens County.
Ferne and William “Bill” were married on April 23, 1940 in Hugoton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2005. To this union were four children, Roger, Ruthie, Vicki, and Beth. She is survived by three children; Ruthie Winget of Hugoton, Roger Traver and wife Ellen of Joplin, MO, and Beth Stipe of Amarillo, TX. Daughter Vicki Micheau joined Heavenly Chorus in 2013.
Ferne worked for J.M. McDonald’s over 25 years. She helped teach the 5 year olds at First Christian Church for many years.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Hugoton. Ferne graduated from Hugoton High School. Ferne loved to garden, crochet, and loved her antiques. She mostly enjoyed her family, her love for them was beyond words.
Ferne survivors include, a son, Roger Traver & wife Ellen, Joplin, MO; two daughters, Ruthie Winget, Hugoton, KS., Beth Stipe, Amarillo, TX.; a sister, Verna Brown, Skiatook, OK.; eight grandchildren, Jimmie, Kent, Lori, Michael, Christina, John, Jerry, and Ginnie. She is survived by 27 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brother, Claude Rich, sisters Darlene Clinesmith and Doris Mantzke.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 10 AM at First Christian Church, Hugoton, KS with Pastor Heath Kelley presiding and burial following at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, KS.
Friends may call Wednesday 10 AM to 8 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton. Family will receive family and friends from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
