Beloved Mother and Wife, Glenda Mae Lighty joined the heavenly skies in her resident town of Hugoton, Kansas on May 26, 2023.
She was the daughter of Alvin Alfonso Redd and Ida Mae (Glover) Redd, she was born on September 18, 1930, in Hutchinson, Kansas.
She loved working in retail sales and talking with people, she was multi-talented, playing piano, accordion, organ, and drums.
She loved to sing and sew, and was great at bowling, often known to win awards.
Her favorite time of year was Fall. She loved the color of the trees.
She loved children, especially when they made her laugh. She had a special kind of humor and could be very funny. She liked driving, even a semi-truck at times. She also liked travelling the country and seeing different scenery. She loved her family more than anything, and will be sorely missed.
She survived by husband, Paul D Lighty; son, Greg Avery; daughter, Michelle Lewis; six Grandchildren, Tonia Stuart, Tineta Powell, Aaron Avery, Amber Avery, Kaitu Lewis and Joshua Lewis, ten Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; brother, Bill Redd and the Redd Family.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Marla Jo Avery and Sonya Dianne Avery Cloud and five brothers and sisters.
A memorial has been established for First Church of God, in care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
Book signing will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 12 PM to 8 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 2 P.M. at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, Kansas with Pastor Richard Martin presiding.
Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton is overseeing the arrangements.
