Hector M. Rascon, Sr., 81, of Garden City Kansas passed away peacefully at his home. Hector was born November 15, 1942 to the late Francisco Rascon-Varela and Ana Marquez in Chihuahua, Mexico. Hector’s life in the United States began in 1992 when he moved to Ulysses, Kansas to be closer to his son, Hector M. Rascon, Jr. He worked for several feedyards in southwest Kansas including Grant County Feedyard and Cactus Feeders. In 2006 Hector relocated to Garden City, He enjoyed working along side his son Hector maintaining his trucks and trailers at Rascon Trucking. He always kept busy and could find him out watering his pine trees or feeding his chickens. He made a point to talk to his son every day, letting his actions show his affection towards the special people in his life. Hector is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Josefina; his son, Hector M. Rascon, Jr. and wife Belinda; daughter, Guadelupe Rascon-Muñoz and husband Francisco Holquin; Maria del Carmen Rascon-Muñoz and husband Doroteo Carillo; Ana Isabel Rascon and husband Guillermo Carrino; Luz Maria Rascon-Muñoz; and Josefina Rascon-Muñoz. Grandchildren Viviana Holguin-Rascon; Francisco Holguin-Rascon; Adrian Holguin-Rascon; Jose Luis Camillo-Rascon; Cesar Doroteo Carrillo-Rascon; Eulalia Carrillo-Rascon; Fabiola Carrillo-Rascon; Sebastian Carrillo-Rascon; Ana Ruby Carillo-Rascon; Perla Isabel Carillo-Rascon; Jesus Carillo-Rascon; Edgar Terrazas-Rascon; Javier Gonzales-Rascon; Antonio Muñoz-Rascon; Andrea Luz Rascon; Victoria Jazmin Rascon; Adrian Mauricio Rascon; Jolette Arianna Rascon; Karina Marquez-Rascon; Daniel Marquez-Rascon; Jesus Marques-Rascon and Jaqueline Marquez-Rascon; his siblings, Francisco Rascon-Marquez; Lidia, Lucila, Elda, Maria, Uriel and 17 great grandchildren are left behind to cherish his memory. Hector was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jose Luis, sister Ofelia and a brother, Osvaldo.
The viewing will be Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main Street, Garden City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, where a rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 16 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 509 St. John Street, Garden City, Kansas.

La visita será el miércoles, 14 de Agosto, de 2024, de 10 am a 8 pm, y el jueves, de 10 am a 6 pm, en la Funeraria Robson, ubicada en 620 N Main Street, Garden City. La familia recibirá a los amigos en la funeraria de 6 a 8 pm el jueves, donde se rezará un rosario a las 6 pm. La Misa de Entierro Cristiano será a las 2 pm el viernes 16 de agosto en la Iglesia Católica de St Mary, en 509 St John Street, Garden City, Kansas.
