HENRY “HANK” MERLE STAPLES
Henry Merle Staples, 95, died on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Stevens Co. Hospital, in Hugoton, KS.
He was the son of J.W. staples and Edith (Sandburg) Staples, he was born on November 16, 1921 at Pratt, Kansas.
He and Dorothy L. (Rasler) Staples were married on September 9, 1944, Liberal Kansas. She preceded him in death September 4, 2007.
He was in the US Navy during the WWII conflict. He was a lifetime member of the US Submarine Veterans, VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include four nieces, Donita Graham, Hugoton, KS; Joyce Tedrow, Ponca City, OK; Johnnie & husband Herman Slatten, Tyrone, OK, Lorretta Woodworth & husband Billy, Hugoton, KS.; four nephews, Ron Sutton & wife Rebecca, Paola, KS., Jimmy Staples, Des Moines Iowa, Phillip Rasler & wife Martha, Woodland, WA, Terry Campbell, Hugoton, KS and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jack Ray Staples, sister, Helen Willmett, four brothers, Charles, Dorsey, Gerald and Jack Staples, a nephew, John Staples. His brother Jack Staples was Missing In Action durning War War II.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2PM at First Christian Church, Hugoton, KS and burial Hugoton Cemetery with Pastor Heath Kelley presiding.
Friends may call Monday 2PM to 6PM and Tuesday 10AM to 8PM at the funeral home.
Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton is in charge of arrangements.
