Jeanette C. Parks, 89, of Garden City, Kansas passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024 and Friday, May 24, 2024 at Robson Funeral Home, 620 North Main Street, Garden City, KS 67846. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 24th at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday the 25th of May at the First Christian Church, 306 N. 7th Street, Garden City, Kansas 67846. Jeanette will be laid to rest in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church, Youth Ministry in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main Street, Garden City, Kansas 67846.
Jeanette was born in October 13, 1934 to the late Joseph and Hattie (Wilson) Fry in Chapman, Kansas. She graduated Garden City High School in 1952 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in 1956. On April 29, 1956 she married Richard Parks in Garden City. Jeanette and Richard started Parks Construction and later Best Supply where she served as the company bookkeeper and helped her husband run the family business until 2015. Jeanette also worked at USD 457 as a nutritionist at Alta Brown Elementary School and retired in the year 2000 with 24 years of service to the children and teachers in her community. She was a member of Easter Star, Acorn Club and an active member of the First Christian Church where she enjoyed sharing her love by serving meals to her church, family, and friends. Jeanette always saw the best in everyone she met, including strangers, and will be remembered for being a caring, kind-hearted spirit that cared for and supported everyone who had the privilege of meeting her. Everyone who met Jeanette came away feeling like beloved family to her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Richard; her Sons, Kenneth Parks and his wife Barbara, and Stanley Parks; Grandchildren, Kristen Parks and Amanda Parks. Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Melvin Fry. (Arr. Robson Funeral Home – Garden City)
