Jody Eugene Bennett

Jody Eugene Bennett, 64, of Garden City, KS passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at his home.  Jody was born November 13, 1958, in Garden City, Kansas to the late Donald and Elma Jean Bennett.  He graduated from Garden City High School in 1976.  After high school, Jody attended Garden City Community College, then went on to earn his PhD from the University of Kansas.  He worked as a scientist for Sunflower Nuclear Medicine and later Tyson’s food.  Jody loved antiques; he enjoyed collecting antiques, selling, and appraising.  He played a key roll as the Lead Appraiser for the Finney County Historical Societies Annual Southwest Kansas Appraisal Fair.  Jody is also a former member of St. James Lutheran Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Bennett; mother, Elma Jean Bennett; and brothers, Anthony and Troy. Jody is survived by sister, Audrey and husband Ian; nephews, Tyler Crain, Anthony Shockley, Michael Bennett; niece, Abbi Bennett and sister-in-law, Denise Barnhardt.  Jody will be cremated and laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, KS.  Services will be held in the spring at a later date under the supervision of the Robson Funeral Home – Garden City.  Please check our website, www.robsonfuneralhome.com  for updated service information.
