Jose Francisco Mota, aged 56, departed from this world peacefully on April 12, 2025, at St. Catherine's Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. Born on October 4, 1968, in Durango, Mexico, he was a beloved son of Jose Sixto Mota and Maria de La Luz Quezada Lopez Mota, whose love and guidance shaped his life.
Jose shared a remarkable life with his devoted wife, Rosa Maria (Pimentel) Mota. Their enduring partnership was a testament to the power of love and support, as they navigated life's ups and downs together, offering each other unwavering encouragement along the way.
As a dedicated member of St. Mary's Catholic Church since 1995, Jose found joy in his faith and community. His passions included camping, fishing, gardening, and dancing, always enjoyed in the company of Rosa and their children. With a vibrant spirit, he also delved into woodworking, welding, and mechanics, showcasing his many talents. In his younger years, he embraced the thrill of bull riding in Mexico and later cherished his role in Mota Transport, working alongside his family.
Jose's legacy lives on through his loving wife, Rosa; his mother, Maria de La Luz Quezada Lopez; his son, Jose Ramon Mota and wife Jasmine; his daughters, Maria D. Pimentel, Vanessa Mota and her partner Jake Leal, and Yvonne Lizette Mota; as well as his cherished brothers Adrian, Luis, Ramon, and David Mota, and his sisters Luz del Carmen and Lourdes Mota. He leaves behind his precious grandchildren—Miguel, Christian, Leslie, Alayna, Zariah, and Isabella—who were the light of his life. Jose was enveloped in the love of a wide circle of family and friends who admired him deeply.
Preceded in death by his father, Jose Sixto Mota, Jose's spirit of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, April 20, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Robson Funeral Home in Garden City. A Rosary Vigil will take place during Sunday’s visitation, in honor of Easter Sunday.
