The Memorial for Lee Irene Vertrees, 70, will be on Monday, November 8, at 11 a.m. at Craddock Funeral Home in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Born December 27, 1950, in La Mesa, California to David and Sara Wright Wilson. She died Thursday, October 28, 2021, at home in Hugoton, Kansas. She married Hugh Warren Vertrees, her soulmate, on January 1, 1971, in Tulsa, Oklahoma and had three beautiful children.
Lee was an avid seamstress, a master gardener and crafter. She was a teacher in every sense of the word. Teaching was her gift and those who were able to experience it will never forget her. Her grandchildren will hold close the memories of adventure on RV trips with MeMe and Pop. Lee loved spending time with her family and was a devoted wife and fiercely protective mother. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ardmore.
