MODESTA(ESTRADA) FLORES
Modesta Flores, 96,passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Homestead Estates in Liberal, Kansas. The daughter of Urbano and Josefina (Perez) Estrada, she was born on January 12, 1926,in Sequin, Texas.
She and Andres Flores were married on May 6, 1945, in Gonzalez, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1982.
Modesta was quite the woman raising her children and others as well too. She loved her family dearly and would go to the end of the world for them. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and singing.
She is survived by four sons, Manuel Flores, Lakin, KS., Ruben Flores, Hugoton, KS., Raul Flores and wife Dianna, Hugoton, KS., and Andres Flores, Ulysses, KS.; four daughters, Betty Fernandez and husband Randolph, Windsor, CO., Luisa Flores, Liberal, KS., Rosario Flores, Greely, CO., and Angie Komar, Idana, KS.; 30 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren, 44 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded by her parents; husband, Andres; son, Mike Flores; daughter, Guadalupe Zuniga; two infant children; seven brothers, five sisters.
A memorial has been established for the family, make checks payable to the Modesta Flores Memorial Fund. In the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 2 PM to 8 PM, at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
The Funeral will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, at 2 PM, at First Church of God, Hugoton. Burial to follow at Moscow Cemetery, Moscow, Kansas.
