Nancy Lane Gallaway

Nancy Lane Gallaway, 82, passed away peacefully at home in Garden City, Kansas, on Friday, December 27, 2024.

She was born on January 30, 1942, in Halstead, Kansas, the oldest of five children to H. Gene and Norma J. (Cook) Unruh. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she loved God, her family, friends, and people.

She graduated from Newton High School in 1960 and went on to work as a secretary, office assistant, cashier, homemaker, babysitter, and various other job duties through the years.

On September 2, 2018, Nancy Married the love of her life, Edmond Lee (Ed) Gallaway. They had known each other for many years before becoming a devoted couple. 

Nancy loved her family and friends and enjoyed shopping, traveling, listening to music, dancing, photos, and spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by her husband, Edmond Lee (Ed) Gallaway of Garden City, Kansas; her three children, Bobbie Lynn Sanem and husband Scott of Frisco, Texas; Valerie Lee Piccone and husband Tony of Garden City, Kansas; Bryan Layne Bacon and wife Christy of Kimberly, Idaho; her stepchildren, Rhonda Brandt of Garden City, Kansas; Ed Gallaway and wife Connie of Holcomb, Kansas; and Jana Biesecker and husband Noel of Pennsylvania; twelve grandkids including her youngest and best friend, Brynna Rose Piccone of Garden City, Kansas, her eight great-grandkids; her siblings, Sally Iorio of Crosby, Texas; Peggy Jenkins of Eagle, Michigan; Wayne Unruh and wife Karen of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Randy Unruh and wife Michelle of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and many other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Norma Unruh, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephew, Randy M. Unruh.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at the Church of the Brethren, in Garden City, Kansas conducted by Nancy's beloved family.
