Richard Delano Parks, 91, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Garden City, Kansas. Born on February 28, 1933, in Delphos, Kansas, to Miles and Lelia Parks.

Richard and Jeanette Charleton Fry were married on April 29, 1956 in Garden City, Kansas. To this union were two sons Stanley and Kenneth.

Richard's educational journey culminated in a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Engineering, a testament to his dedication to the field. His professional legacy began when he co-founded Parks Construction and later expanded into Best Supply alongside his cherished partner, Jeanette. Together, they built businesses that stood as pillars in their communities, reflecting their shared passion for service and commitment to improving the lives of those around them.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Richard served his country with honor. His military service instilled in him a sense of discipline and responsibility that carried over into his civilian life. 

Richard was not only a man of profession but also a man of faith. He was an active member of the First Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas, where he found joy in studying the Bible and participating in church activities.

Richard is survived by two sons, Stanley Parks of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kenneth Parks, who resides in Brookston, Texas, with his wife, Barbara. He is also survived by his brother, George Parks, and his wife, Donna, of Denver, Colorado. Richard took great pride in his family, including his two grandchildren, Kristen Parks and Amanda Parks, who brought him immense joy. He leaves behind many other relatives and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jeanette Parks, his brother Bob Parks, and his sister Mildred Shivers.

Memorials have been established for "The Voice of the Martyrs"; in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, Kansas 67846.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church, Garden City, KS. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Richard Delano Parks will be remembered for his contributions to his community, his devotion to his family, and his unwavering faith. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
