ROBERT (BOB) ECKAS
Robert Eckas, 81, died on August 7, 2016 at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit, Johnson, KS.
He was the son of Adam & Lena (Echart) Eckas, he was born on September 20, 1934 at Ault, CO.
He and Bonnie Burnett were married on July 22, 1956. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2002.
He was a veteran in the US Army.
He was a member of United Methodist Church of Manter, later he attended
Wesleyan Church, Johnson, KS.
He enjoyed carpentry for his hobby; he made furniture for his children which consisted of end tables, dinette set and laundry hampers. He loved to spend time making semi-trucks and golf carts.
Survivors include, a son, Kevin Eckas & wife, Brenda, Park City, KS.; Terri Ross & husband Mike, Grand Junction, IA.; two brothers, Sonny Eckas & Herbert Eckas, Greeley, CO.; a sister, Joyce Glassgow, Loveland, CO.; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Cook, Anya Cook, Benjamin Cook, Brett Cook, Shaila Hutchison, Alison Eckas and Lance Ross; nine great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He preceded in death by his parents, Adam & Lena Eckas.
A memorial has been established for Robert Eckas Memorial. Memorials may be mailed to Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home-218 S. Main St. Ulysses, KS. 67880.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10AM at United Methodist Church, Manter, KS with Pastor Mary Courtney and Pastor Kurt Rovenstine and burial in Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson, KS.
Visitation will be on Wednesday 10AM to 8PM at the funeral home. The family will receive friends 6PM-8PM at the funeral home.
