Ruby Laverne "Laverne" Holcomb

Ruby Laverne (Cooper) Holcomb, age 87, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at her residence, Hugoton, Kansas.

She was born to Charles and Marie (Brixey) Cooper on July 21, 1933.

Laverne married Gene Floyd Holcomb in 1951. To this union were two sons, Steven and Chuck.

Laverne was raised and graduated from Rolla High School. She and Gene raised their boys there and loved the small-town feeling. She and Gene enjoyed taking Steven and Chuck on trips around the country. Lavern loved life and enjoyed every aspect of it. She loved keeping a very clean house, she took great pride in running a tight ship in all aspects of her family. She enjoyed garage sales and knitting was her hobby. Anything to do with grandchildren she was all about. She enjoyed them and loved being around them.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Holcomb, Las Vegas, NV. And Chuck Holcomb, Hugoton, KS.; brother, Jack Cooper, Tyrone, OK. And Duane Cooper, Abilene, KS.; four grandchildren, Wayne Holcomb, Calvin Holcomb, Melinda (Holcomb) Imler, and Samantha Holcomb; seven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 26, 2021, 2 PM to 8 PM, Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 2 PM, Rolla Cemetery, Rolla, Kansas.
