Sabas V. Cerecero, a long-time resident of Hugoton, Kansas was born on January 28, 1935 in Saltillo, Mexico. He passed in death on October 5, 2020 at 85 years old.
At 13 years old, he decided to head to the USA for a better life and eventually became a resident of Colorado. This is where he met and married Elizabeth Trujillo of Proctor, Colorado.
Together they raised their 6 children; Jimmie, Adam, Dora, Flora, Claudio, and Sabas Jr.. All raised in the small town of Padroni.
Sabas was a Trenching, Heavy Equipment Operator for over 30 years with Sterling Construction based out of Sterling, Colorado. After 30 years he decided to venture out and started his own successful business, Sabas Cerecero Manure Spreading Service.
Along with his love of work, he often spent time talking with friends at the local McDonalds. He enjoyed trips with his grandchildren and other family members to his hometown of Saltillo, Mexico.
Sabas is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Cerecero and Carmen V. Cerecero, Saltillo, Mexico; wife, Elizabeth Mary Cerecero; son, Adam Andy Cerecero of Trinidad, Colorado; daughter, Dora Jane Kryger; granddaughter Jessica Estrada-Grogan, Hugoton, Kansas; two sisters, Ines Cerecero, Tina Camerana; brother, Simon Cerecero, Saltillo, Mexico.
He is survived by his sons, Jimmie Cerecero, Hugoton, KS., Claudio Cerecero and wife Judy, Hugoton, KS., Sabas Jr. Cerecero and wife Lila, Park City, KS.; daughter, Flora Estrada, Hugoton, KS.; daughter-in-law, Margarita Cerecero, Hugoton, KS.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020, 2 P.M. at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, Kansas.
