Shawn William Garriott, 60, a beloved husband, father, and skilled professional, passed away on February 28, 2024 in Kansas City, Kansas.
Born on February 21st, 1964, to his loving parents John and Suzanne (McCord) Garriott.
Shawn William Garriott married the love of his life and mother of his children, Staci Renee Stuber on September 14, 1996, in Eureka, Kansas. His commitment to his family was unwavering, with his four children - Chance and wife Savanah, Reece and fiance Cullen, Aubryn, and Hadley - being the center of his world. He took immense pride in attending all their sporting events, showing unwavering support and love as a wonderful dad and husband.
Shawn's journey included educational pursuits at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas. Throughout his life, he exhibited qualities of kindness, dedication, and passion both in his personal life and professional endeavors. He was the co-owner of Western Electrical, where his expertise in stadium lighting for baseball fields and rodeo arenas left a lasting impact on many. Shawn's dedication to his work and the countless miles he traveled to sporting events will always be cherished.
Shawn will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his loving wife Staci Garriott, residing in Madison, KS; his mother Suzanne Garriott; sister Lisa and husband Scott Adams; four children, Chance and wife Savanah, Reece and fiance Cullen, Aubryn, and Hadley; as well as numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his dear father John.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 2, 2024, 4 p.m. at the Clint Bowyer Building in Emporia, Kansas - a fitting tribute to a man whose light shone bright in the hearts of many. Shawn's legacy of love, hard work, and devotion will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. Cremation has taken place and there will be no public viewing.
In honoring Shawn Garriott's memory, let us carry forward the kindness and dedication he exemplified every day of his remarkable life. May his spirit live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
