Walter Lee Clair, 88, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, Morton County Senior Living Community, Elkhart, KS.
He was born to Ed and Ida (Helfrich) Clair on June 20, 1930, Rolla, KS. He lived most of his life in Morton County. He loved Morton County that was home to him.
Walter and Phylis Bitner were married June 27, 1959 at the Nazarene Church, Elkhart, KS. They had six children; Brenda Gay, Walter Gene, John Lane, Dana Lee, Bobby Dean, and Justin Dale.
Walter served our County in the Korean War and was in the United States Army. He also worked for Keyes Helium Plant as an instrument mechanic. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to bow hunt for deer and hunt for ducks.
He is survived by his wife, Phylis Clair, Hugoton, KS; two sons, Bob Clair and wife Amy, Wichita, KS., Justin Clair and wife Delona, Andrews, TX.; four granddaughters, Alexis Dassy and husband Robbin, Midland, TX., Gabriella Clair, Andrews, TX., Anah Clair, Wichita, KS., Emma Clair, Wichita, KS; several other relatives and friends.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ida; four children, Brenda Gay, Walter Gene, John Lane, and Dana Lee.

A private family service will take place at a later time.
